Donation Recipients

Here are some of the nice letters we have received from rescues and shelters across the country, who have received toys from and customers, like you, who have kindly donated toys through the Toys for Pets donation program.

We thank you so much for the huge box of dog toys donated to our rescue group. At present, we have 18 dogs who all interact on a 6 acre fenced yard. It looked like Christmas, as they played with their toys. They rolled on their backs and held them up in the air. Others played tag with each other. It was a very good time. We sincerely thank you, from the bottom of our paws.

Thank you so much for the donated items you recently sent to Save A Shepherd Rescue Alliance. Our finances at SASRA are mostly concentrated toward veterinary bills and do not include the luxury of buying toys for the dogs in our care. Our foster home volunteers usually foot the bill for any toys bought for the special guys, and these toys will be greatly appreciated by them and the dogs. Your generosity is touching and thanks again for your support and for thinking of our cause.

Thank you for your generous donation of wishlist items. We are grateful for your participation in the Center for Great Apes as it allows us to continue to provide life-long care for the 43 resident orangutans and chimpanzees who live at the sanctuary. Each one of our apes have come from backgrounds where they were used as entertainers, as roadside attractions, pets in private homes, or in some cases, research subjects. But they all have in common the fact that they were taken away from their mothers as tiny infants, raised by humans, and eventually needed a permanent home where they could be cared for in a safe and enriching environment. The Center strives to provide these very intellingent (and very strong) primates with tall spaces, room to roam around, good nutrition, proper health care, stimulating activities, and companionship with their own species. Those who were so humanized need special attention to help them learn who they are and to gain the skills required to interact successfully with other apes. Many of the great apes have arrived here still as youngsters or adolescents, but have a life span of over 50 years. Our commitment to provide them with a permanent home is staggering when we look at the costs of care. But, with the help of our members and friends, we can do this!

We at Ozark Mountain Basset Rescue, Inc. are in receipt of the case of toys and treats you sent. I had 4 basset hounds here at the house when the package arrived and I do wish you could have seen them opening the box (I started it) and discovering all the toys and goodies inside. I did give them each a toy of their choice and a treat. Then I packed the rest to distribute to our other foster homes. We continue to save as many as we have room for. We usually average one adoption a week. However, adoptions have been a little slow lately and we are hoping things pick up so we can make up for lost time. The demand for rescue is as high or higher than ever. Thank you so very much. Your generosity is beyond words and we appreciate anything and everything you do for us.
